University Truant

There's a local programme this week where universities in the area have some sort of "Open Day" where sixth formers can catch a glimpse of the uni life. That means today I was supposed to attend some lectures of choice and make up my mind about my future.
Unfortunately, the courses that were offered today were boring as hell and definitely don't fit my plans (Me and economics? Come on!), so instead, I went to town with my friend Banu and we roamed around a little.

Shirt - T by Alexander Wang
Skirt - H&M
Coat - H&M
Bag - Zara
Boots - Doc Martens
Scarf - Jack & Jones (My brother's)
Ring - Vintage

This is a photo of our lunch.
I was literally having an inner debate for 10 minutes about what I should get because everything sounded absolutely mouthwatering. Eventually, I settled for the Cheesy Baked Penne and Ham. And I can proudly say, I regretted it for only 20%!

SS14 Trends (White blouse)

Good evening!
Here's another SS14 Trends post for you. Today I'm going to present you the timeless white blouse. It's a great basic piece that can be styled to create many different looks.

Catwalk

 1. 3.1 Phillip Lim, 2. Acne, 3. Badgley Mischka, 4. Bottega Veneta

1. Burberry Prorsum, 2. Honor, 3. Mulberry, 4. Rachel Zoe

Here are some Polyvore sets that I made, featuring the white blouse. I absolutely love the silk one with the black bow and the ruffled cuffs from Dolce & Gabbana. Currently my favourite!

Style Crushes

I desperately wanted to post something today but I don't have much time to prepare a full-length post, so here's just a photo collection of my fashion inspirations.

Alexa Chung

Honestly, I can't stop rambling on about how much I love this woman. She has such a beautiful sense in fashion, it's unbelievable. I love the way how she pulls off leather jackets with cute dresses and still looks lovely. Her style goes from feminine and classy to edgy and rocky-chic.
Also, she's the reason why I'm into Peter Pan collars. She's so flawless. *sobs*

Danielle Bernstein

Danielle Bernstein, or better known as WeWoreWhat, is a fashion blogger from New York. I love her style because it seems so effortless. Usually she wears casual clothes, for example denim jeans and beanie, but pairs them with statement pointy flats.
She made me getting obsessed with dungarees, and while she looks flawless and cool in hers, I look like a giant baby in a playsuit. Doesn't stop me from wearing them though...

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen

These two are my favourite twins since I was little. Their style is very versatile and it basically goes from grungy to classic with a bit of edge. One moment you see them rocking bandshirts and boots and then in the next one, they're wearing elegant robes. I think they are so cool and I've been looking up to them for ages.

I hope you enjoyed reading about my style crushes. Do you have any? Let me know in the comment section.
See you soon!

My Favourite Bags

Happy Sunday, lovelies! I'm so gutted the weekend is over because it means I have to face all the stress in the coming week. (Just kidding, I have Christmas holidays ha! I gained 4 pounds by stuffing my face with food and sitting on the couch for 12 hours, followed by a ten-hour sleep. My life is AWESOME at the moment.)
I was mulling over what my next blog post was going to be about and I came to the conclusion that I'm going to show you my all time favourite bags.
For some women it's their shoes, for some it's their make-up and for me it's definitely the bags. I often find myself looking at some on the internet or sometimes I watch "My handbag collection" videos on Youtube, and I can't help but wish that those were all mine.
I sadly do not own any of the ones below, although I'm trying to change that. I'm currently saving for one of the listed bags and it might ONLY take 2 years to go! Woohoo!
Please note that I'm very aware of their price and I do know it's a lot of money!

I have mostly used neutral colours for the collages as I haven't decided yet which exact colour I would be getting. Also, those are only casual everyday bags. I could also do this kind of post with evening bags, if you wish!
So here we go. My all time favourite bags in no particular order because they're all my babies:

1. Mulberry - Effie Satchel
I think every Eleanor Calder style blog knows this bag by heart. It's available in two sizes and three different colours, black, red and oak. Those are the standard colours but I think they do come out in seasonal colours as well. If I remember correctly it was a peachy one at the beginning of this year/end of last year.
It's a crossbody, so quite convenient as both of your hands are free. You can also wear it on your shoulder or on the crook of your arm if you like.
A very nice bag that can be worn for casual days, as well as special occasions.

2. Mulberry - Alexa
This one's named after my fashion idol Alexa Chung and is one of the most iconic bags from Mulberry. Personally, it's my absolute favourite and I'm actually saving for her. (Yes, it's a she!)
I have read many reviews on the Alexa and as far as I know, it doesn't look as structured as it looks like on the website. Due to the soft leather, the bag is slouchy but that also depends on what kind of leather you're going for. Some are stiffer and some aren't.
There are many versions of this bag, for example the Mini Alexa, the Alexa satchel, etc., and there's a wide range of colours and leathers to choose from as well. The one that I'd like to get, is the "Mulberry Alexa Oak Soft Buffalo" with the golden hardware.
Again, the bag comes with a strap so you can sling it across your body or you can also use the handles.

3. Chanel - 2.55 Classic Double Flap
I'm almost positive that everyone has seen or heard of this bag before. It's so popular, it's hard to not know it. I don't see myself getting that bag anytime soon, as I'm still in school and obviously don't have the money but I would absolutely love to own it one day. A great investment as it's the most classic bag there is, and I'm sure it will never go out of style.
The quilted bag can be purchased in many colours and patterns and in four sizes, I think. You can choose between the golden hardware and the silver one and also the kind of leather. If anyone's considering getting this gorgeous bag, I'd recommend you getting the caviar leather since it's very resistant compared to the lamb skin. You literally have to be careful not to run your finger nails over it, otherwise there will be clear scratch mark visible.

4. Alexander Wang - Rocco
Available in two sizes, the smaller version being the Rockie, is the elegant, classy and sassy Rocco bag. The studs at the bottom of the bag give a rocky edge, one of the reasons why it was the "It" bag of 2009. Not entirely sure if I'm getting it someday because I've read some bad reviews on this one. Apparently it's extremely heavy for its rather small-ish size and I heard it lacks shape. Nevertheless, it's a wonderful bag to look at!

5. Givenchy - Antigona
To be honest, the Antigona hasn't been on my wish list for long. Only recently I discovered my love for it when I saw my cousin using it. I had seen bloggers wearing it and it never really caught my eye, but up close it is such a lovely bag.
The leather is to die for, I could literally run my fingertips over it the whole time.

6. Prada - Saffiano Lux Tote
Another beauty I only fell in love with recently. I guess, it's a rather well-known bag. Very spacious. Elegant looking but the two zippers make it casual at the same time. I can imagine it's rather impractical to wear because the bag doesn't come with a strap, so you basically have to carry it on your arm the whole time.
But I think the shape is beautiful and it's also so structured. Basically that's a good enough reason to me for wanting it.

7. Mulberry - Bayswater
I know. Another Mulberry bag. I guess I have a weak spot for them. To be fair, the Bayswater is gorgeous!
The iconic bag looks very professional and sophisticated, and I think it’s a good basic piece for any wardrobe.
It’s very appropriate for work and business meetings but it can also be styled casually, if you get it in the colour Oak for example.
Again, I wouldn’t get this bag any time soon. Perhaps I’ll consider it after I have graduated university which won’t happen in at least 7 years.

8. Balenciaga - City Bag
This is the best selling bag from the fashion house Balenciaga and I’ve been dreaming about this one for ages. Perfect for your everyday life, not too fancy but quite the eyecatcher at the same time.
I have seen many bloggers getting it in purple and I’d love
to get it in the same colour. Normally, I would go for a more subtle and simple colour but it looks really good in purple!

9. Michael Kors - Selma
I think this is the least priciest one from my list and it would make more sense, if I got this one as my first bag but I already have my heart set
on the Alexa. Who knows, the Selma might be my second one?
It’s very simple and classic, and excuse me if I’m wrong, but I think it’s saffiano leather, so extremely scratch-resistant and waterproof.
I don’t see any major reasons why I shouldn’t get it, other than the fact that so many girls at my school already own it.
*sigh* The struggle of not becoming mainstream.

10. Saint Laurent - Cabas Chyc
This one is my all time favourite from Saint Laurent. It’s sophisticated, neutral and not too trendy. I really like it in pictures, but I haven’t seen it in real life yet. Next time I see a Saint Laurent store, I might go in and have a look.

 11. Miu Miu - Bow Suede Tote
This bag is so cute and girly with the feminine bows on the sides. It’s convertible and can be carried to complete your daytime look but also for chic occasions. I would absolutely get it in this rose colour as well because it just adds a romantic touch.

12. Proenza Schouler - PS11
A really popular bag that is sophisticated, timeless and perfect for any occasion. The shiny metal gives it a urban and edgy look. I must admit, I wasn’t a big fan of it at first but the more I look at it, the more I fall in love. I love the fact that it’s the perfect classic shoulder bag.

Sorry, if this post was too long. I wanted to keep it short by only doing six bags but I ended up adding more and more. Also, bear with me if you spotted any typos. I'm too tired to proofread. Anyways, I hope you have a wonderful day/end of day!

H&M Sale Haul

I'm quite the shopaholic (I'm trying to change, I really need to save!) and there's nothing I love more than bargains. So when I was shopping on Boxing Day I went a bit crazy since everything was so much cheaper.
Unfortunately, my mom wasn't in a mood for excessive clothing hunting which is why we only made it to one shop, H&M to be exact.
When I went in there at the beginning of this year, I was rather disappointed because the clothes weren't that appealing to me, and stupidly enough I didn't give it another shot afterwards.
Saying I was surprised, when I went in there on Boxing Day, is an understatement. The sale was absolutely amazing. Everything was so cheap. I saw loads of things I wanted to get and my mom's lucky that most items weren't available in my size anymore because otherwise she would have spent a lot more money than she already did.
Check out the stuff I got:

I've been looking for a decent woolen coat for so long and I'm so happy that I got this one for only 25€!

I thought I should get this dress since plaid is a trend this season. Besides, it was only 10€. Probably won't keep me warm since the material is very thin and drape-y but whatever.

I'm a sucker for dots which is why I got this black see-through blouse for 10€. Obviously going to wear a top underneath! ;)

I found this black skirt with the lace layer really cute so I purchased the same one in nude:
(Excuse the horrendous top. It's the baggy shirt I sleep in haha)

I payed 6€ each.

A close-up of the pattern.

I admit, the leggings are rather daring but I'm determined to make them work. I saw a similar pair on polyvore (I featured those in my set from the previous blog post) and immediately wanted to get one myself, so I was really chuffed when I saw those for only 5€ in H&M.

Just a basic cotton shirt that I managed to grab for 3€.

Earrings and hair accessories that I bought for 1€ each.

Some dotted socks (yay!) for 5€ or 6€, I can't remember.

A cute pair of knitted gloves for only 3€.

I hope you like my purchases from Boxing Day and by the way, Happy New Year! I hope 2014 treats you well and brings you a lot of joy. One of my resolutions is to blog more, so let's hope I'll pull that one through.
Have a nice day, you beautiful people!

PS: Sorry, for my messy room. Bear with me. I'm only a teenager after all.
